The Camaro comes in both V6 and V8 versions. The 3.6 liter V6 pumps out 300 horsepower and come in the LS and LT models of the Camaro. The SS version of the Camaro features a 6.2 liter V8 that produces a staggering 422 horsepower with a ma-nual transmission. The SS automatic transmission model also comes with the 6.2 liter V8, but it only produces 400 horsepower. But, what the automatic model lacks in pure power, it makes up for in fuel economy by utilizing GM’s Active Fuel Management sys-tem that deactivates some of the engine’s cylinders when they are not needed. Consi-dering gas prices today, the option for cylinder deactivation is a welcome addition to a muscle car.
