Mercedes-Benz S320 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY - Best New Car

Thursday, October 2nd, 2008

Mercedes-Benz S 320 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY - Best New Car : New to the car is the standstill decoupling feature, which interrupts the power flow to the transmission as soon as the vehicle draws to a stop with the engine running, in much the same way as the clutch on a manual transmission. This eliminates the converter’s hydrodynamic resistance, lessening the load on the engine and lowering fuel consumption.

The Mercedes-Benz S320 CDI BlueEfficiency rides as standard on 17-inch light-alloy wheels shod with reduced rolling resistance tyres, featuring a special carcass construction.

New 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG - Best New Car: Having an New 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLK 55 AMG with the AMG performance package I concur this does make a difference from the standard issue.Even bigger brakes and being lighter with the composite design…brilliant design!

The AMG car’s low-profile tires and 18-inch wheels don’t provide much comfort on highways either, as passengers feel every small crack, bump, and surface change. Steering feel, however, is almost perfect for this luxury roadster - heavy enough, but responsive and easy to maneuver.Performance-wise the SLK 55 AMG carries over largely unchanged, which means you’ll still find AMG’s 5.5L V8 underhood producing 360 hp and 376 ft-lbs. of torque. The AMG Speedshift 7G-TRONIC transmission returns, as well. New this year is the SLK’s direct steering system with variable servo assistance, which reduces the amount of turns needed to go from lock to lock and makes turning an easier effort on the driver.
